Hurricane Harvey…thinking fondly of Port Aransas, TX
My view while painting Tropical Dreams I and II/September 2016
It’s difficult to understand the amount of damage/heartache experienced by so many in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey…I think of living through what others have been through and, of course, I just really truly can’t imagine it. Just this past summer, I spent a few days in both Rockport, TX and Port Aransas, TX and I am grateful for the times spent with family and good friends. Thinking of the various “mom and pop” restaurants and locally owned small businesses…and hoping for a quick recovery time for them all.
The opportunities to assist others are (thankfully) many. In addition to contributing paintings to two different art auctions on behalf of Hurricane Harvey…I am also offering to donate the proceeds from two paintings (Tropical Dreams I and Tropical Dreams II) as another way to help others. These two original paintings ($115 each) were created on the beaches of “Port A” and in celebration of the hardiness of the people of “Port A”, I’d like to donate 100% of the proceeds to this organization:
For more info, please contact me…I’d love to discuss logistics/details. It’s a small effort on my part, yet seems fitting in that it was the beach/people of Port A that were the inspiration behind the two paintings.
